Bath & Stonehenge

Journey Through Bath and Stonehenge

Renowned for its rich Roman history, architecture and natural hot springs, the city of Bath is set among the rolling hillsides of Southwest England. The city’s recognizable yellow stone architecture, visible in its bridges, buildings, baths and abbey, is a lasting remnant of the Roman occupation of Britain during the heights of the Roman Empire. One of the main attractions is the Roman spas, which are a complex of ancient baths built by the Romans from the city’s natural hot springs. However, we’ll think you’ll also delight in the modern city’s vibrant contemporary culture, as there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The area surrounding Bath has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which means it is protected thanks to its stunning natural features. The city sits west of Stonehenge and is commonly paired, in tours, with this iconic ancient site comprised of mysterious standing stones. Stonehenge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has stood tall for over 5000 years, since around 3000 BC. The significance of the ring of standing stones has baffled archeologists – it may have been a burial site, a sacred monument or a prehistoric temple. Despite its mystery, it is one of England’s most popular tourist destinations and is not to be missed out on a trip through South England.

Bath’s location in Southwest England makes it a perfect hub for touring Southern England due to its proximity to many of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, including beautiful Cotswolds, and its wide selection of fine hospitality options.
