Birmingham

As the second largest city in the UK, Birmingham is brimming with culture and boasts a bustling city center and a beautiful university campus. It sits in the West Midlands of England, not far from the Welsh border, and is close enough to the iconic tourist destinations of the south to be used as a hub destination for international tourists.

The city’s main attractions that are not to be missed are the Museum & Art Gallery, the Science Museum, St Philip’s Cathedral and the university buildings. For those who love chocolate, take a trip to Cadbury World, where you can take a self-guided tour through a mouth-watering exhibit that tells you the history of chocolate and the British Cadbury business, which is now owned by Mondelez International.

If architecture is your thing, you’ll love the university buildings. Birmingham University received its royal charter in 1900, making it over 120 years old, and one of the best sights is Chancellor’s Court, designed by the famous Aston Webb, which encircles the iconic clock tower, known as ‘Old Joe’ or ‘Big Joe’. Central Birmingham is also a bustling metropolitan area full of fine restaurants and bars to visit. One of Birmingham’s most renowned locations is the Bull Ring Arena, which is a uniquely designed building covered in thousands of small metallic plates!

For your EPL soccer tour, Birmingham is close enough to be used as a hub destination when visiting the home-grounds of Aston Villa, the Wolverhampton Wonderers and Leicester City FC.
