Lake District

the Lake District, known colloquially as ‘the Lakes’, lies at the northern end of England, not far from the border with Scotland. Thanks to its stunning landscape, it is the UK’s most popular mountainous destination, boasting England’s tallest peak, Scafell Pike, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is renowned for its lakes, forests and mountains, and was immortalized through the poems of William Wordsworth.

The Lake District is an utter joy to discover if you are looking for an atmospheric break in nature exploring the outdoors. Its rolling hills and mountains outline long lake banks, meres and waters that carve the landscape of this distinctly beautiful region. The local culture is friendly and relaxing, and there are many traditional British pubs, restaurants and cafes scattered throughout the region’s towns where you can enjoy simple but delightful cuisine, such as a traditional English Afternoon Tea or the iconic Fish and Chips.
